Zero-Carbon Peaking Power for Britain's Renewable Grid

Oxvern Energy is developing the UK's next generation of hydrogen peaker plants—delivering clean, fast-response electricity when the grid needs it most.

The Challenge

Britain's Grid Needs Flexible, Low-Carbon Power

As wind and solar scale, so does a critical problem: what happens when the wind stops? Gas peakers fill the gap today, but they're incompatible with Net Zero. Hydrogen changes the equation.

Our Solution

Hydrogen-to-Power, Built for Efficiency

Oxvern Energy is developing hydrogen peaker plants that convert low-carbon hydrogen into grid-ready electricity within minutes. Our model is focused and capital-efficient.

Hydrogen to power process: Hydrogen Supply → Storage → Gas Turbine → Grid Export

Fast-ramping dispatchable power

Delivering electricity in minutes, not hours

Zero carbon at point of generation

Clean energy when the grid needs it most

Strategic site selection

Optimised for grid access and hydrogen supply

Aligned with UK policy

Positioned for emerging support mechanisms

We partner with hydrogen producers, purchase hydrogen under long-term agreements, and concentrate on what we do best—reliable power generation. This approach allows us to focus on operational excellence while benefiting from the UK's growing hydrogen infrastructure. The result: competitive fuel costs and zero operational carbon emissions.

Why the UK, Why Now

Policy Tailwinds Are Converging

The UK Government has committed to a carbon-free electricity system by 2035. To get there, independent analysis projects that 12–20 GW of new low-carbon dispatchable capacity will be needed. Hydrogen peakers are a key part of that mix.

Dedicated hydrogen-to-power policy support is expected to launch in 2026, building on the existing Capacity Market framework. With dozens of hydrogen production projects moving through development and significant public investment committed to hydrogen infrastructure, the supply chain is maturing.

Experience

International Experience, UK Focus

Oxvern Energy's leadership team brings direct experience in hydrogen-to-power project development from North American markets. Our executives have worked on peaking projects from feasibility through to commercial operation, navigating the technical, commercial, and regulatory challenges that come with pioneering new energy infrastructure.

We're applying that experience to one of the world's most dynamic energy transition markets. Our focus is the UK market, where grid constraints, policy support, and hydrogen production capacity are converging to create compelling opportunities across England and Wales.

We're currently exploring development opportunities across the UK, prioritising sites with grid connection availability, proximity to hydrogen infrastructure, and strong partnership potential.

Who We Work With

Partnership Opportunities

We're building relationships across the UK hydrogen and power ecosystem. Whether you're a hydrogen producer, landowner, or investor, we'd welcome a conversation about working together.

Hydrogen Producers

We're actively exploring long-term supply agreements with hydrogen producers across the UK. If you're developing hydrogen production capacity, we'd welcome a conversation.
